How to load Editor/400 using a CD-writer and the iSeries (AS/400) CD-player

• Download the Zip-file ED400CD.ZIP from this website. Extract the files 'Editor400' and 'QDSETMAP' from the zipfile. Burn these two files on a new CD-Writable or a new or cleared CD-Rewritable. The iSeries (AS/400) can only read single-session CD-roms, so this has to be the first session on this CD!

• Load the CD into the iSeries (AS/400).

• RSTLIB SAVLIB(EDITOR400) DEV(OPT01) OPTFILE('/EDITOR40'). If the iseries can't find the file, get the file name with the command:

       DSPOPT VOL(*MOUNTED) DEV(OPT01) DATA(*FILATR) PATH(/)

• Grant *PUBLIC all authority (*ALL) for the objects in the library EDITOR400.

• Next you should add an user-defined option E4 to PDM:

       CALL PGM(*LIBL/W@ED00) PARM(&L &F &N &X &S)

• To be able to use Editor/400 the library Editor400 must be in your librarylist.

• You can add users with program w@ed91:

CALL W@ED91 

• When using Editor/400 for the first time, you will be asked to enter the following data:
