Work with files

When you press F8 you will see a subfile with all the files that are used in the program. The 'file' *PGMDEF contains all the fields that are defined in the program. Also display files and printerfiles are listed in the subfile.

On this screen you have multiple options. The first part consist of functions to add data to your source. The second part contains functions you can perform on the files themselves.

Functions to add data to your source:

• 1=Filename. Select the filename to be inserted into your source
• 2=Recordname. Select the record name to be inserted into your source
• 3=Accesspath. Select the accespath to be inserted into your source:

• 4=Description. Select the description of the file to be inserted on a new comment line above the current source line
• 5=Refresh layout. Refresh the layout if you have changed anything in the filedefinition

Functions to perform on the files:

• A=Accesspath: show the accesspath of the file

• F=Fields. Show the field layout of the file
• P=Print. Print the file layout
• V=View: View the contents of the file using RUNSQL
• U=Update. Update the file using DFU
• R=Database relations. Show the physical file and all related logical files.
